Howlong - Beyond the Dreamtime

Have you ever wondered who were the traditional Custodians or First People to live in the Howlong-Corowa area? Where did they come from, how did they live, what did they eat, where did they travel, what is their heritage?

A presentation of these issues will be given at a meeting of the Howlong Historical Society on Wednesday the 2nd of October at the Howlong Golf Resort.
Adrian Wells, Chair of the Petaurus Education Group in Albury, will provide an introduction to the Aboriginal people of the area. Over the past four years, Petaurus has worked with Aboriginal Elders along the Murray River to create a school education resource on the Australia’s First People.
This area has been home to Aboriginal people since the Dreamtime and the region’s land, rivers, hills and plains are steeped in their history. Adrian has lived and worked along the Murray River his entire adult life and has worked on many cultural heritage projects with Elders.



Adrian’s presentation will be held at the Howlong Golf Resort on the 2nd of October 2019 and will commence at 2pm.
