As part of our 2017 Annual Celebration Yes Unlimited is proud to launch our locally made short film about domestic and family violence “The Ripple Effect”. Developed by Nomad Films and funded through a grant by Border Trust and Albury Wodonga’s White Ribbon Grants Committee.

The Ripple Effect features powerful stories from local women and professionals about their experience of this pressing community issue. Following the launch the film will be widely distributed through social media, school presentations, and other community forums aimed at raising awareness, challenging misconceptions, supporting people to know where to turn and providing hope that things can change.

Alongside the film launch we’ll be launching the re-vamped drop in space at The Hub building and hearing from the Yes Change Makers, a group of young people who are passionate about making change in their local community.

Program Manager for Yes Unlimited’s Betty’s Place Women’s Refuge, Danielle Thompson, says “Domestic and family violence continues to be an issue that confronts our community at many levels. The women involved in this film have shown incredible courage and resilience in sharing their story and I am completely amazed by their ability to rise above and use their experience to contribute to changing how we view this issue.”
