Outdoor Classroom Day Australia
99 per cent of Australian teachers agree that outdoor time is critical for children to reach their full potential, yet 2 in 3 children spend under an hour playing outdoors each day.
To inspire outdoor learning and play, Nature Play with support from OMO will be taking the classroom outside with thousands of schools across Australia and the world, stepping outdoors to take lessons and prioritise playtime.
Outdoor Classroom Day is a global initiative to educate children, teachers and parents about the impact outdoor learning has on children’s health, and the effect outside time has on kids.
Learning outside helps improve children’s problem solving skills, working with their peers to achieve outcomes and come back indoors, ready to learn more.
In 2017, over 2.3 million children worldwide participated in the day, with almost 200,000 Aussie kids getting involved.
